Image: Core Group Meeting on Women held on 14 September 2021 7.83 Major recommendations emanatingfrom the meeting are as follows: • Encouragement should be given for greater participation of women inthe Parliament through gender mainstreaming.Also, the Parliament Committee Mechanism for nominating women representatives needs to be reviewed. • There is a need to provide opportunities to Indian women in terms of employment, handholding, capacity-building, training and other avenues to learn and work, understand culture and values abroad and thereby contribute to nation-building. • There is a need to maintain and make available in public domain disaggregated data indicating sex, showing the percentage of women in foreign services or those engaged in international work on behalf of the State, including representation of women in government delegations to the international conferences, and in peacekeeping or conflict resolution roles, etc., as endorsed by the General Recommendation No. 23 on the CEDAW. • Promote small and medium enterprises for Indian women entrepreneurs at the international level via bilateral or multilateral trade relations and negotiations. • The Government should come up with fellowship programmes for women leaders from different sectors for their training, exposure and attachment to various international bodies. 7.84 The above-mentioned recommendations were sent to the concerned Ministries/Departments for taking necessary action on 01 October 2021.
