SDGs strongly focus on women and girls and gender issues and include children, youth, persons with disabili�es, people living with HIV/AIDS, older persons, ethcnic peoples, refugees, internally displaced persons, and migrant workers. With the aim of realizing the human rights agenda with mutually reinforcing SDGs, NHRC plans to strategize its interven�ons accordingly. NHRC will make deliberate efforts to integrate human rights educa�on in formal and informal learning ins�tu�ons through curricular and extra-curricular ac�vi�es to promote a culture of human rights. The NHRC has already introduced an online human rights course for students ensuring accessibility for persons with disabili�es. NHRC plans to roll out this course in all learning ins�tu�ons for all. The NHRC will work with local community structures, NGOs, CSOs, CBOs, FBOs, legal professional associa�ons and organiza�ons, and HRDs to reach out to the people. The NHRC will also strengthen the capacity, structures, and systems of HRDs and rights and advocacy-based NGOs to respond be�er to human rights viola�ons. In addi�on, emphasis shall be placed on enhancing the public par�cipa�on of le�-behind community representa�ves in decision-making at the local (rural and urban local government) and na�onal levels. SP2: Promote and protect the rights, advancement, and interests of women and children by crea�ng all favourable condi�ons through following the gender mainstreaming approach Raising awareness of women and men on women’s rights contributes to limi�ng the power of gender stereotypes that prevent women from par�cipa�ng fully in social, professional, and public life and depriving them of their full ci�zenship. Therefore, the NHRC will raise awareness of both women and men on women’s rights and gender mainstreaming. Similarly, the NHRC will also raise awareness of child rights.
