Reason for selection In order to showcase the Commission’s unique role in human rights affairs and its global perspective, the NHRC plans to create the Center for Human Rights Information, where a wide range of human rights materials will be curated. In addition to being an invaluable source of information for the NHRC’s research projects, the Center will be tasked with translating human rights literature and disseminating human rights information, allowing Taiwan stay on top of international human rights trends. 2. Significance To facilitate research and foster a global perspective, the NHRC is actively seeking to introduce new software and hardware facilities to its library, expand its collection of books, e-books, case studies, papers, and multimedia materials, translate and publish important human rights literature, keep track of global human rights trends, and promote human rights-related writings, picture books, and teaching materials. 3.
