03 S E C T I O N Demographics of children and young people that raised COVID-19 Between January 2020 and April 2020, Kids Helpline responded to 2,567 contacts from children and young people aged 5 to 25 years, where COVID-19 was recorded by counsellors in their contact notes. 895 were first-time contacts, 837 were occasional support contacts, 723 were ongoing contacts, and 112 were contacts where the child or young person’s type of engagement with Kids Helpline was unknown.
