The outcomes were: 4,543 = 82% Resolved or assistance given. 887 = 16% Withdrawn or no response from the complainant or enquirer. 120 = 2% Were unable to be resolved within HRC's dispute resolution service. Unlawful discrimination enquiries and complaints received In 2018/19, the Commission received 1,41723 enquiries and complaints about unlawful discrimination of which 1,282 complaints alleged unlawful discrimination under the Human Rights Act. Unlawful discrimination enquiries and complaints by sector The Human Rights Act distinguishes between unlawful discrimination in the public sector under Part 1A and the private sector under Part 2 of the Act. Part 1A of HRA (public sector) Deals with complaints about legislation and Government policy or practice Part 2 of HRA (private sector) Deals with unlawful discrimination by business and non-Government agencies as well as employment complaints (including pre-employment) in both private and public sectors. 22 The number of enquiries and complaints closed includes complaints received before the 2018/19 year. 23 There were five enquiries and complaints falling under both Part 1A and Part 2. 36 Human Rights Commission
