CHAPTER 2 This year, the Commission honoured Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad with this Award for its continued efforts to train and employ PWDs, thus helping to alleviate this group from employment and economic marginalisation. The Persons with Disabilities Programme employed by Mydin Mohamed Holdings was intensified thanks to the Job Coach Programme conducted by the JKM in 2012, but the initiative of hiring PWDs actually starter earlier by Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad. As of June 2014, a total of 115 PWDs have been employed by Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad. To further strengthen the PWD Programme, Mydin Mohamed Holding Berhad has no put in place an action plan for training and recruitment of PWD. In addition to the award recipients above, this year the Commission gave special recognition to YB Senator Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Governance, Integrity and Human Rights.
