3. Introduce education and training programs on Geriatric Medicine, Gerontological
Nursing, Therapies, Nutrition, Caregiving etc. for the medical and related
professionals who are currently providing services to different patients in hospitals
and clinics.
4. Arrange provisions so that OPs can be receiving healthcare service on priority
basis in all public and private hospitals and clinics. Also, setting up separate
counters and corners for elderly patients and reserve at least five percent seats for
OPs in hospitals and clinics.
5. Introduce ‘Old-age Health Insurance’ program for OPs of the country.
6. Inclusion of ageing and elderly welfare issues separately in the textbooks where
the Constitution of Bangladesh, national policy on older person-2013,
Maintenance of parent act- 2013 and other relevant documents will be studied.
Signing ceremony of bilateral treaty between NHRC and Election commission
NHRC has introduced Digital Complaint Management System to dispose complaints
more efficiently, easily and immediately. For providing faster delivery of services it is
important to give national identity (NID) number in the applications lodged by
complainants. In order to prove the true identity of the complainant it must be verified
through Database of National Identity Number resided to National Election
Commission. Thus, a bilateral treaty was signed between NHRC and Election
Commission in this regard. On behalf of NHRC, Secretary Mr. Narayan Chandra
Sarkar and on behalf of Election Commission, Director (Registration and Migrants)
Md. Abdul Momin Sarkar signed the treaty.
