rape, sexual harassment. NHRC expressed concern over these crimes and took actions. CCTV camera has been installed in public bus due to NHRC’s advocacy. NHRC believes that, it will be possible to combat rape if we can identify the causes of rape. So, the NHRC has conducted national inquiry for the first time in Commission’s history, to identify the causes. The committee made 37 point recommendations and sent them to concerned ministries. Commission expects that women stay safe in home and outside. 2.7 Child Torture Today’s children are tomorrow’s future. They will lead the world in future. Like previous years, incidents of child torture, rape and murder were noticed despite lots of positive initiatives of government. In 2022, the number of child death by drowning had been higher. In addition, child death by road accident and murder had also been higher this year. Besides, sexual torture of boy children was alarming. NHRC believes that, this type of crime has increased because of degrading social values.
