Training Module on the Right to Mental Health in the Academe
Tier 3 interventions are meant for students with more advanced mental
health needs (i.e., social, emotional, or behavioral) who require more intensive
intervention. Typically, Tier 3 interventions are individualized and delivered
by trained mental health clinicians, often in one-on-one settings. As with
Tier 2 interventions, Tier 3 interventions use problem-solving strategies that
accurately match students’ presenting needs to evidence-based treatments.
Tier 3 interventions are distinguished from Tier 2 interventions by their
intensity and duration.
