Seminar in Munshiganj & Gopalganj
The new Commission led by Chairman
Nasima Begum, ndc exchanged their views
with human rights defenders in Gopalganj
and Munshiganj in the discussions
arranged by NHRC in collaboration with
local administrations. The aim of the
discussions to know the expectations of
people from the new commission and to
know the human rights situation in those
districts.
Hon’ble Law Minister assured NHRC to continue extending full Support to the New Commission
Hon’ble Minister of Ministry of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Huq, MP assured to
continue extending full cooperation to the newly appointed commission. He came up with this
assurance as a six-member delegation of NHRC led by Chairman Nasima Begum, ndc paid a courtesy call on him on 16 October 2019. He said that the NHRC Act 2009 was enacted during the tenure
of present government and the Commission is an independent body. From the establishment of NHRC,
government has gradually strengthening the Commission. Government has never interfered with the
activities of the Commission. Hon’ble Chairman saught cooperation from the ministry in increasing
NHRC’s budget and logistics. Hon’ble Minister assured to continue full support in this regard.
