During the period 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, the Commission recommended Rs. 25,38,35,000 as payment of monetary relief/compensation to the victims/next of kin of the deceased in 691 cases. Out of the 691 cases in which monetary relief was recommended, compliance reports were received only in 125 cases, wherein a total amount of Rs. 2,18,15,000 was paid to the victims/next of kin of the deceased. The State/ Union Territorywise details of these cases are at Annexure-4. ii. As on 31.03.2019, compliance reports were awaited in 566 cases wherein monetary relief amounting to Rs. 23,20,20,000 was recommended during the year (details of the cases at Annexure- 5). Apart from the recommendations for monetary relief, the Commission also recommended disciplinary/ departmental action against the errant public servants in 25 cases (details of the cases at Annexure-5A ) The Commission, once again, recommends to all those States/Union Territories, in particular the Government of Uttar Pradesh, to take speedy action on cases pending with them for compliance so that the monetary relief recommended in each case is immediately given to the victim/next of their kin. iii. As is evident from the given Annexure 4, during 2018-2019, a total of 211 cases were found to be pending with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, 52 with the Government of Odisha and 34 cases with the Government of NCTof Delhi, 29 cases with the Government of Jharkhand, 28 cases with the Government of West Bengal, 25 with the Government of Bihar, 22 Cases with the Government of Rajasthan, 19 Cases with the Government of Maharashtra, 18 cases each with the Government of Haryana and the Government of ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19
