Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions: A company limited by guarantee Constitution 1. Company’s name and structure (a) The name of the company is the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions. (b) In this constitution, the company is referred to as the Forum. (c) the Forum is comprised of: a the members, being national human rights institutions in the Asia Pacific region that are admitted as either ‘A’ accredited members or ‘B’ accredited members under clause 11 and who meet in General Assembly Meetings convened in accordance with clause 13; b the Forum Council, being the directors acting as a board, and who are appointed by ‘A’ accredited members in accordance with clause 14.1; and c the Forum Secretariat, being the Executive Officers appointed by the Forum Council with the authority delegated to them by the Forum Council. 2. Forum’s object The Forum is established to provide benevolent relief to vulnerable people in the Asia Pacific Region suffering from the effects of abuses of their human rights, including by: (a) protecting and promoting the human rights of such peoples; (b) collaborating with national human rights institution in programs to protect such peoples from the effects of human rights abuses; (c) supporting the establishment of human rights institutions; and, (d) acting as trustee and doing such other things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of this object. 3.
