operation. His husband has been with the company for 10 years and only got SSS and PhilHealth
membership during his 4th year. They have a fixed 5,500 PHP salary and have no sick leave or off days.
They get their wages in a brown envelope with a piece of paper detailing their deductions but no official
payslips were issued. If they have any complaints, they are told that they can resign.258 No grievance
mechanisms were put up.
The effects of coastal reclamation projects on their livelihood
With the sharp rise of coastal development projects in the country in the past years, 259 the participants
were asked to enumerate reclamation or coastal development projects in or near their communities, and
identify the effects of these projects.
