Chapter 3 - Report of the Research and Policy Development Group Council provides an avenue for informed deliberations on a multitude of human rights issues and situations, and serves as a platform to address violations of human rights that occur in various places worldwide. Given the essential role of the Council, the Commission continued to engage with it by participating in its regular sessions and by making interventions at relevant panel discussions. In 2014, the Commission attended several events of the 25th and 27th regular sessions of the Council in March and September, respectively.
