While the majority of complaints received were related to detention facilities, shelter facilities, and the police, a rapidly growing number of complaints were received in relation to shelter facilities between 2010 and 2015, with the number on a slight decrease from 2016. Also, a steady rise was observed in complaints related to schools and public service-related organizations, which became subject to investigations through the amendment of the NHRC Act in 2012. B.
