Chapter 2 - Report of the Complaints, Monitoring and Inquiries Group (a) Public Hearings The Inquiry began on 5 July and was completed over a period of 29 days. A total of 49 witnesses testified during the public hearings and presented relevant evidence. Most members of public and the media came of their own accord, while police personnel were called in based on the testimony heard (Table 4).
