(Department of Census and Statistics) Source: Labour Force Survey in Sri Lanka- First Quarter Report of 2017 (Department of Census and Statistics) Number engaged in Agricultural, industrial and service sectors, according to the study of Sri Lankan Labour contribution in different sectors in the second quarter of the year 2017, is indicated in the table below. First and second quarters of 2017 are analyzed. Number of persons engaged in employment during the second quarter of 2017 is around 8.1 Million out of which 45.7% are in various services sectors, 28.3% in various industrial sectors and 26.0% are in agricultural sectors.
