society, whether by personal initiative for participation or through the creation of conditions to enable persons with disabilities to participate. It was clear from the monitoring process carried out by the NCHR that: (48%) of the polling stations were not equipped to receive and allow the participation of this category of society with various disabilities. The creation of suitable conditions in these centers was the responsibility of the Government, in cooperation with the civil society institutions. It was also incumbent on the media to promote the need for the active participation of persons with disabilities as citizens with rights and duties. However, more than (200) polling stations were equipped for the participation of persons with disabilities in the last parliamentary election process, which was held on 9/11/2010. In this connection, the following observations were recorded: 1. During the monitoring process carried out by the NCHR, it was found out that the polling and sorting committees provided, with a percentage of (89%), necessary assistance to voters with disabilities. 2. A number of persons with disabilities complained about not allowing their companions to enter with them to the polling stations and help them to cast their ballots.
