rights; and (2) the implications of the
passing of Labor Creation Act on
workers’ rights. The urgency of these
two critical studies on human rights
issues can be seen in the following

In conducting a study of this critical
issue of human rights, Komnas HAM
RI examined the “Effectiveness of the
Implementation of Policies for Prevention and Handling of Criminal Offences of Human Trafficking (TPPO).”
Based on the study, Komnas HAM RI
submitted recommendations to the
government to take steps: :
Globalization has an impact on human trafficking and
often has links to sexual violence, free markets, refugees.
Human trafficking is a manifestation of human rights violations.
Workers are the most affected group because the enforceability of the Work Creation Act will have implications for workers’ rights.
The asymmetrical power relations between corporations and workers are increasingly evident because these
policies tend to favor the interests of the corporation.
