Series of Places of Detention Assessment Reports (02)
Palestinian Correction and Rehabilitation
Centers
The Jericho CRC was opened during 2012, becoming the first CRC in
Palestine that takes into account international standards in terms of spaces,
services, protection, and other issues related to places of detention. Ramallah CRC was renovated after the evacuation of the second floor of the
building that was rented originally during the same year 2012. But despite
the recent restoration, it was still observed that the aforementioned center
(Ramallah CRC) lacked sufficient space which resulted in overcrowding
due to the large number of inmates and the small area of the center.
In 2013, the Nablus CRC was established and handed over to the Ministry of Interior.
