The Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka any specified provision thereof and in particular, requesting it to consider the desirability of introducing such amendments as may be recommended in the message. (3) Where a statute is returned to a Provincial Council by the Governor under paragraph (2), the Provincial Council shall reconsider the statute having regard to the Governor’s message and may pass such statute with or without amendment and present it to the Governor for his assent. (4) Upon presentation of a statute to the Governor under paragraph (3), the Governor may assent to the statute or reserve it for reference by the President to the Supreme Court, within one month of the passing of the statute for the second time, for a determination that it is not inconsistent with the Where upon such reference, the provisions of the Supreme Court that the statute is consistent with the of the the Governor shall, on receipt by him of the Court’s determination, assent to the statute. The directions so given shall be in relation to the grounds specified in such Proclamation for the making thereof.
