1. INTRODUCTION This report presents a baseline assessment of activities addressing the rights of persons with disabilities in the Maldives. It does not attempt to evaluate the performance in fulfilling national commitments under specific articles of the relevant international conventions. This report also does not assess performance of individual Ministries and agencies in disability related service delivery. Rather, it attempts to identify the ongoing activities and the key issues that will need to be considered for the future development and improvement of services to protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
