drafted following a realistic
consultative process. In this
process those who are experts in
corporate sectors; human rights
activists
and
government
representatives
should
be
engaged with the process .
• EU Countries are emphasizing on
“Practice of Human Rights in
Due Diligence” and they have
incorporated it in their legislative
framework. Thus, we should also
take this into consideration so
that we can incorporate it in our
work plans as per the context of
our country.
Second virtual meeting of this
committee was held on 17 June 2021.
Full Time Member and Chair of this
committee presided over the meeting.
In the 1st round of this meeting,
Bangla translation of UN Guiding
Principles on Business and Human
Rights was launched in presence of
UNDP Resident Representative Mr.
Sudipto Mukerjee. A documentary of
B+ HR Asia was shown. Business and
Human Rights Specialists Harprect
Kaur and Sunjeon Choy from UNDP
Regional office, Bangkok Jointly
presented an informative concept
paper on this issue.

Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed told, “due to
shut down of 06 state owned sugar
mills labors of these mills are living
miserable lives. Thus, we need to
rethink on how to reform the
management of this industry. An
effective study is needed in this regard.
Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzam, Chairman,
PKSF said, “we need to investigate the
human rights violations occurring in
agricultural, industrial and health
sectors. He also mentioned,” UN
Guiding Principle on Human Rights is
an international principal. We need to
consider our country context when
applying it in our country. “CEO of
Techno Heaven Company Ltd. said,”
fraudulent activities of insurance
companies are going on for many
years. The Insurance Development and
Regulatory Authority should take
proper action. Decision was taken to
send letter to concerned authorities on
this issue.
