In 1975, we again saw human rights violation. With a view to promote and protect human rights present government formed the National Human Rights Commission in 2009. We need to strengthen this Commission. We are role model of development. We need to promote human rights bearing this into mind. We all are respectful towards freedom of speech and protection of human rights. NHRCB’s initiative of essay competition is a praiseworthy initiative”. Special Guest Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said, “Bangabandhu fought for establishing human rights all through his life. This essay competition is the way to raise awareness on human rights. Our hon’ble Prime Minister is being praised worldwide for protecting human rights. We are working for protecting the rights of marginalized people and also promoting gender equality. Present government has undertaken responsibility of the people of this country and has become less dependent on donation”. NHRCB Chairman Nasima Begum, ndc said, “Commission believes that hon’ble Minister will finalize the draft Sexual Harassment (Prevention and Protection) Act 2021. Mentioning the criticisms about NHRCB she said’ “Does the work on human rights only include killings and disappearances? Are the women’s rights, PWDs rights, right to work etc. not the human rights? NHRC Act clearly mentions that the Commission can take steps if human rights violation occurs in organizations or against any person.
