Part II Australian Human Rights Commission Division 3 Functions relating to human rights Section 20A (11) Subsections (9) and (10) do not impose a duty on the Commission that is enforceable in court. (12) Subsection (11) does not affect a legally enforceable obligation to observe the rules of natural justice. 20A Reports to the Minister If: (a) the Commission has inquired into an act or practice that may be inconsistent with or contrary to any human right; and (b) the Commission is of the opinion that the act or practice is inconsistent with or contrary to any human right; the Commission may report to the Minister in relation to the inquiry. 21 Power to obtain information and documents (1) Where the Commission has reason to believe that a person is capable of giving information or producing documents relevant to a matter under examination or inquiry under this Division, a member may, by notice in writing served on that person, require that person at such place, and within such period or on such date and at such time, as are specified in the notice: (a) to give to the Commission, by writing signed by that person or, in the case of a body corporate, on behalf of the body corporate, any such information; or (b) to produce to the Commission any such documents.
