Special events The first death anniversary of Ms. Thusitha Samarasekara, former Director (Monitoring & Review) of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka who passed away on 21 st September 2014 during her return from monitoring elections of the Uva Provincial Council together with a team of HRCSL officials was remembered by the Commission for her contribution as a human rights defender proposed an event to pay tribute by organizing an annual event in her memory and that of all human rights defenders of our country Sri Lanka.
