Workshops on duty bearers’ responsibility to ensure rights based public service The Division observed that the complaints received by the Commission from the general public related to the difficulties they faced obtaining services from various government institutions. Training Programmes on The Rights of Minorities The Division took steps to create awareness of rights of minorities among security forces and the police. The programme consisted of international standards pertaining to rights of minorities, protection of rights of minorities in Sri Lanka and role and responsibility of security forces where protection of minority rights are concerned. 24
