Technical Tools and Resources Recommendation 3: Develop a set of guidelines and/or manuals on monitoring, investigating and advocacy related to climate change impact on human rights, which align with the broad NHRI mandates. Priority: High Feasibility: High Timeframe: Short-term (1 to 6 months) Specialised tools can be developed through an external consultant, in consultation with the NHRIs, and based on the good practices of NHRIs in other regions. Policy Context: Strengthening NHRIs practice in monitoring, investigating, and advocacy related to climate change impact on human rights through standardised guidelines and tools can be useful in aligning them with national level CCMA and disaster management policies and practices. This can also be useful in strengthening data sharing protocols with relevant government agencies. Expected Impact: Enhanced ability to conduct detailed monitoring and assessments of climate impacts, enabling NHRIs to provide evidence-based recommendations to governments.
