children of Bangladesh become victims of trafficking and are sold to brothels in various states including Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and West Bengal. Besides, many women and children are being caught by the Law Enforcement Agency in India as infiltrator and they lead miserable life in jails and safe homes in India. In the border area of Petropole, there are some shops and they give “Adhar card” to the trafficked girls in exchange of 500/600 rupees. In many cases, traffickers of both countries are involved in supplying these cards. It is also known that in past several companies used to supply these cards taking tender from government. As a result, brokers could easily collect these cards most of which were fake. Bangladesh government and Bangladeshi mission in India are considering the fact with due importance and working in coordination with relevant ministries. In the meantime, many victims of women and children are being repatriated and the process is continuing. Tenant hostages house owner (Suo Moto Dha. 26/21) On 22 September 2021, Ekattor TV reported that tenant had hostaged home owner in Dhaka. NHRC took Suo Moto complaint on this and Deputy Director M. Rabiul Islam is told to do fact finding and submit report. The report mentioned that during visit, it was seen that water and electricity connections were disconnected in that home. Due to NHRC’s intervention, the water and electricity got reconnected. Victim family thanked NHRC for assistance. Rehabilitation of disabled child Sharmin (Suo Moto- 33/20) On 9 December 2020, Prothom Alo reported that mentally ill Sharmin (8) was detained by her parents since one year. Poor parents had to detain her due to fear of losing her. Her parents earn by begging. As a result of instruction given by NHRC, for her treatment, education and training 20,000/- taka was given by local administration and National Disability Development Foundation was instructed to take necessary action for ensuring her treatment, education and training. Son kicked his mother out of the house (Suomoto - 55.12.000. 105.31.001. 20) Daily Samakal reported that sons Dev Kundu kicked his mother out of the house in Kurigram area of Narail. The old woman Maya Rani alleged that his son sold their land and misbehaved with her and kicked her out of the house. NHRC instructed Deputy Commissioner of Narail to arrange old-age allowance for Maya Rani and lodge case against the son under Parents Maintenance Act 2013. The district administration sent report and mentioned that the local administration rescued the mother and got her admitted into hospital for treatment. District administration and Directorate of Social Welfare gave the cost of medicine and treatment. They also supplied food and clothes for her.
