NHRC’s recommendation against
human trafficking (Complaint No.
Suo Moto- Dha- 17/21)
Media reported about terrible scenario
of human trafficking in India, Middle
East and Europe; emergence of new
drug LSD and easily available
pornography are damaging our future
generation. NHRC noticed these
reports. In this context, NHRC has
given some recommendations as
follows: Commission believes that,
police will continue all efforts to
combat these crimes. Police are the
protector of people. If police feel
helpless in controlling these crimes,
people will feel Unsecured. In this
context, Senior Secretary of Public
Security Division is recommended to
increase
surveillance
of
law
enforcement agencies and beat
policing activities in possible routes of
drug and human trafficking.
Mass awareness is important to control
drug,
human
trafficking
and
pornography.
Awareness,
strong
family ties, social resistance and strict
surveillance of administration can
combat these crimes. Thus, Secretary,
Coordination and Reform, Cabinet
Division is recommended to increase
surveillance and create awareness in
grassroot levels.
People are becoming victim of
fraudulant activities by several
recruiting agencies and brokers. Thus,
Secretary, Ministry of Expatriates
Welfare and Overseas Employment is
recommended to take necessary action
against this.

NHRC believes that we need to
expedite justice process. Because
punishment rate of human trafficking
cases is very low. Thus Secretary, Law
and Justice Division is recommended
to take necessary action to expedite
trial process of the cases related to
human trafficking.
Senior Secretary of Ministry of
Foreign Affairs is recommended to act
jointly with the destination countries
for controlling these transnational
crimes.
A group of illicit businessmen are
sharing porn videos due to easy
availability of Pornography. As a
result, young generation’s moral and
behavioral degradation are seen.
Moreover, they are being involved in
Teenage Gang and committing crimes.
Thus
Secretary,
BTRC
is
recommended to take necessary
actions for controlling pornography.
It is important to investigate how the
“Adhar card” is given to the victims of
trafficking in India and who are
involved in this. In this context, His
Excellency High commissioner of
Bangladesh in new Delhi, India is
recommended to take necessary action
regarding this issue.
BTRC has informed NHRC that
already 22000 porn sites are closed and
if NHRC sends BTRC any link of porn
site that is still accessible they will take
immediate action to close that.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has
informed NHRC that every year many
young girls are being trafficked to
India through Benapole-Petropole
border. Specially many women and
