NHRC also noticed fraudulent activities of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission in the name of National Human Rights Commission. NHRC has taken a number of initiatives to protect people from being cheated. After nullifying the organisation’s registration, it filed two writ partitions in High Court Division. Besides, a learned advocate Md. Abu Hanif also filed another writ petitions to notify hon’ble High Court about fraudulent activities of that organisation. NHRC was mentioned as opponent party in two of the three writ petitions. NHRC decided to respond to the petitions for public interest and has already appointed panel lawyer in this regard. Media reported about fraudulent activities of Rajarbagh Pir Dillur Rahman. It was reported that Pir Dillur Rahman lodged false cases against many people around the country using his followers to take money from them. NHRC noticed the media report and took suo moto case NHRC investigated the case through its own inquiry committee and found the allegations true. The inquiry report with recommendations to take action against Pir Dillur Rahman and his followers was made public and published in NHRC’s website. After this, Dillur Rahman filed writ partition in hon’ble High Court Division to remove the report from website. NHRC decided to respond and appointed panel lawyers. Thus, NHRC is very much committed to continue its works more effectively and to enlighten our country’s image in international arena.
