Step 6: Check your analysis with key stakeholders
Check your analysis with key stakeholders as appropriate. Your stakeholders may be those who contributed
information, selected internal staff and/or selected external people.
This is a very important step in the process. Although you have already agreed outcomes from each focus
group, no one will have yet seen the overall draft audit results. This is not a time to relitigate any new points
but to ensure you have correctly captured the meaning and intent of the contributions. Checking in with
key stakeholders is also helpful to keep people briefed and up to date. This sustains their interest in, and
ownership of, the audit.
Step 7: Finalise your analysis and conclusions
Finalise your analysis and conclusions as a result of stakeholder feedback.
Step 8: Draft recommendations
Draft recommendations and reflect on the results of the final analysis. Does it uncover draft recommendations
about what the NHRI can do to strengthen what it does well and to address some of the challenges and gaps it
may be experiencing?
At this stage you don’t need to finalise the recommendations (that happens in Stage 4) but make sure to note
the key areas they address.
