Consultation on Draft ICESCR Report The Consultation on Draft ICESCR Report was held in Conference Room of National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh on 12 February 2018 at Conference Room of NHRC. Kazi Reazul Hoque, Honorable Chairman, NHRC addressed the consultation as Chief Guest. Mr. Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, Member of NHRC and Chair of ESCR thematic Committee moderated the open discussion. He explained that the goal of the consultation was to incorporate the inputs from stakeholders in the report. Farhana Syead, Member Secretary of ESCR Report Committee welcomed everyone. Sharmeela Rassool, Chief Technical Adviser, Human Rights Programme, UNDP presented the paper on “Reporting Under International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights”. The representatives of relevant Ministries and NGOs were present at the consultation. Thematic Committee on Women’s Rights & Children Rights held joint Discussion NHRCB Thematic Committee on Women’s Rights & Committee on Children’s Rights jointly organized a discussion on 29 August 2018 at Conference Room of NHRC. Violence against women & children, sexual harassment of Rohingya women and children in Myanmar and draft Act on Sexual Harassment Repression received from the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad were discussed in the meeting. Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman, NHRCB chaired the discussion. Nurun Naher Osmani, Member, NHRCB; Khushi Kabir, Coordinator, Nijera Kori; Zakia K. Hasan, Executive Director, Women for Women; Rokeya Kabir, Executive Director, Women Pragati Sangha; Shabira Nupur, Deputy Director, World Vision, Bangladesh attended the discussion. Seminar on Role of Stakeholders to Stop Violence against Children NHRCB jointly with Local Administration of Rangpur and World Vision Bangladesh organized a seminar on Role of Stakeholders to Stop Violence against Children on 04 July 2018. Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman, NHRCB attended the program as the Chief Guest. Enamul Habib, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur presided over the seminar. Nurun Naher Osmani, Member, NHRCB; Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Vice-Chancellor, Rokeya University; Mizanur Rahman, Superintendent of Police; Chandan Z. Gomes, Director, World Vision were present at the seminar. Kazi Reazul Hoque said, “Human rights of children should be protected in family, educational institutions and workplace. Next generation will retain all achievements of the present pro-children government.
