priority to the right to health for all and ensure respect for human rights without
discrimination. The NHRC also urged the competent authorities to move
forward with its measures within the framework of supporting response to
COVID-19 in conformity with human rights standards and in a manner
commensurate with public health risks.
D. The NHRC formed a "Field Visit and Monitoring Sub-committee" to conduct
field visits to designated quarantine facilities, places of detention, and workers’
accommodation to monitor the humanitarian situation and precautionary
measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The NHRC also formed an
"Awareness and Education Team" to educate all groups, especially the most
vulnerable groups, about the risk of this pandemic and the need to follow the
preventive measures to limit the spread of the epidemic.
E. The NHRC monitored the humanitarian situation of several groups and the
extent to which their economic and social rights were affected due to this crisis,
such as their access to free health care services.
F. The NHRC issued a report on the committee's efforts since the beginning of
the pandemic, through which it raised recommendations to many stakeholders.
G. On July 20, 2020, the "Monitoring and Field Visits Team" began to conduct
field visits to monitor the implementation of the preventive measures to
confront the Coronavirus.
H. The awareness and education team distributed educational publications
targeting all groups and produced educational video as part of the Stay Home
campaign
Through the monitoring process conducted by the NHRC, it was clear that this work
has improved in comparison to the beginning of the crisis. It became more organized
and met several health requirements, such as preventing overcrowding and
stampede, ensuring order, distancing and wearing masks when receiving materials.
