xiii) Inter-College Debate Competition for College Students 8.18 To celebrate the observance of Human Rights Day on 10 December 2008, the Commission in collaboration with Jesus & Mary College, New Delhi organized an inter-college debate competition in which students from various colleges of University of Delhi participated. xiv) School Children’s Race 8.19 To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights that was adopted in 1948 by the United Nations General Assembly as well as the observance of Human Rights Day on 10 December every year, a race competition was organized by NHRC for school children at India Gate on 7 December 2008. xv) Inter-Paramilitary Forces Debate Competition 8.20 To commemorate the significance of Human Rights Day on 10 December 2008, a debate competition in Hindi and English was organized by the Commission for the personnel of Central Police Organizations (CPOs) in collaboration with Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) on 20 November 2008. xvi) Painting Competition 8.21 A painting competition for young children in the age group of 8-12 years and 13-16 years was organized by the Commission in collaboration with the National Bal Bhawan at New Delhi on 16 November 2008. Differently-abled children also participated in the painting competition. The theme of the competition for 8-12 years children was ‘Pollution-free Diwali’; the theme for 13-16 years children was ‘Hygiene, Sanitation and Health’ and for the differently-abled children it was ‘Education as a Human Right’. 112
