Selection Committee headed by Mrs. Jyotika Kalra, Member, NHRC comprised of Mr. Ambuj
Sharma, Secretary General, Mr. Dilip Kumar, JS(T&R), Mr. Jaimini Kumar Srivastava, DD(M&C), Mr.
Indrajeet Kumar, AR (Law), NHRC and Ms. Rekha Shingari, an artist as members. The first prize
of Rs. 15,000/- was given to Ms. Neha Agarwal, Kolkata, West Bengal, second prize of Rs. 10,000/was given to Ms. Shikha Verma, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh and third prize of Rs. 5,000/was given to Mr. Soumya Ranjan Samal, Jajpur, Odisha respectively. Besides this, 08 consolation
prizes of Rs. 2500/- each along with certificates were given and 03 participants out of 11 other
shortlisted painting were given the prize of Rs. 1000/- each along with certificates.
NHRC Street Theatre Festival and Competition
2.28 The Media & Communication Wing organized the NHRC human rights street theatre festival and
competition as part of the NHRC’s Silver Jubilee Human rights Mela. A Selection Committee
headed by Mr. Justice P.C. Ghose, Member, NHRC comprising of Mr. Ambuj Sharma, Secretary
General, Mr. Gurbachan Singh, DG(I), Mr. Dilip Kumar J.S. (T&R), NHRC, selected 07 street plays out
of total 19 entries. The duration of each street play was about 10-15 minutes. Out of these seven
plays, the selection committee selected three for the first, second and third prize respectively.
First prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- was given to the play Maila Kuchaila representing ‘Anubhuti’- (The
Street Play Society of JDM College, Delhi), Second prize of Rs.60,000/- was given to the play Apna
Adhikaar Pehchano representing ‘Rudraksh Kala Mandal’, Delhi. The third prize was given to the
play Bhookh of ‘Jazba Theatre Group’ Delhi alongwith certificates of participation. Besides this,
all the seven groups which performed plays were given Rs. 25000/- each alongwith certificates.

2.29 The Dy. Director (M&C) wrote slogans in Hindi and English for display in NHRC Human Rights
Walk organized on 14 October, 2018. It was flagged off by the NHRC Chairperson, Mr. Justice
H.L. Dattu, and celebrated sportspersons, Ms. J. Mary Kom, Boxer and Mr. Vijay Kumar, shooter.
