Shri Ugo Astuto, Ambassador of the European Union to India; Ms. Lene Volkersen, First Secretary (Poli cal Affairs); and Shri Lorenzo Parrulli, Second Secretary (Poli cal Affairs), visited the Commission on 27 April 2022 to discuss the broader work of the NHRC in the promoon and protec on of human rights in India. • Delega on of Human Rights Commission of Maldives consisted of Ms. Mariyam Muna, President, Dr Ahmed Adham Abdulla, Vice President, Ms. Moomina Waheed, Commis- sioner, Ms. Aminath Shifaath Abdul Razzaq, Commissioner, Ms. Uza Samaau Ahmed Najeeb, Commissioner and Shri Ali Ahmed Manik, Senior Bureau Officer, visited India from 23-27 May 2022. The delega on was briefed about the func oning of the Commission, complaint management, inves ga on of cases, forensic analysis, etc. The delega on was also taken to Gujarat State Human Rights Commission on 26 May 2022 to understand the func oning of the SHRCs. • German Deputy Chief of Mission, Dr. Stephan Grabherr visited the Commission on 27 May 2022 to discuss human rights issues in India. He also visited the Commission on 10 November 2022 to discuss the upcoming Universal Periodical Review (UPR) in November 2022. • Shri Rory Mungoven, Head of Asia Pacific Sec on and Ms. Aida Mar rous-Nejad, Human Rights Officer, Asia-Pacific Sec on, Office of the United Na ons High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) visited the Commission on 13 October 2022 to be er familiarise themselves with the work of various Governments and non - governmental ins tu ons, with a view to seeking areas of engagement and poten al coopera on. • Delega on from European Parliament (Ms. Alviina Alametsa, Member of European Parlia- ment, accompanied by Ms. Ehlert Saara Antonia, Parliamentary Assistant and Rajphael Fisera, Poli cal Advisor), visited the Commission on 03 January 2023 for a mee ng with the Chairperson, Members, DG (I) and Registrar (Law), NHRC. 79
