The Commission issues direc ves to complete the inves ga on on HRD maters (Case No: 1609/25/11/2022) The Commission took cognizance of the complaint filed by a human rights ac vist from West Bengal, alleging that the police officials from the Police Sta on English Bazar are misusing their power to harass the people. The Complainant also stated that a human rights ac vist, was being harassed by the police in connivance with the members of the ruling poli cal party. 76 The Commission sought report from the state authori es. A er regular follow up, the report was received on the ma er. The Commission considered the report and it was revealed that the case is pres- ently under inves ga on. The concerned court will take further necessary ac on as warranted under law based on the merits of the case and the inves ga on done by the police. The Commission closed the case with liberty to the complainant to raise their grievance if any before the concerned court and direc ves to police authori es to complete the inves ga on in the case at the earliest.
