26 Figure 20: Frequency of Ayuda During the ECQ Perceptions on the Pandemic Response When asked about the effectiveness of the government's pandemic response for workers, overwhelming majority of respondents (75%) answered that the government response did not adequately respond to the needs of workers, as compared to the 14.3% that answered positively. Most of the explanations as to why this was the case revolve around: ● the insufficiency of the ayuda given; ● non-equitable distribution of aid; ● the fact that aid was subject to patronage politics on the ground; ● the inability to address joblessness; and ● the inability of many companies to adequately respond to the needs of workers.
