3.2 Highlighting Important Interventions Ms. Shahana gets Provident Fund (Complaint no-267/71) A school teacher Ms. Shahana (Pseudo name) lodged a complaint at NHRC against her school authority for not including her in the provident fund list for 3 years in spite of her inclusion in M.P.O. list. She complained to the Headmaster of the school but the Headmaster did not do anything to solve the problem. NHRC contacted with the Headmaster and he confirmed that the school incorporated the name of Ms. Shahana in the Provident fund list. Ms. Shahana expressed her gratitude on this. Father met his daughter (Complaint-234/17) Mr. Hasan (Pseudo name) complained at NHRC that on 12/04/2015, he got divorced with her wife on the basis of mutual understanding. According to the condition, He will give 2000 taka for her daughter as monthly maintenance and will keep contact with her. In terms of this condition he gave 8000 take in 4 months for maintenance and bought a phone set to her daughter to keep contact. But he complained that his ex-wife didn’t allow him to meet her daughter. He also mentioned that after this 4 months he could not contact with her daughter anymore. He urged to NHRC to take proper steps so that he could meet her daughter. On this circumstance, Commission noticed both parties to be present before the Commission or contact with Commission over phone. After mediation, both parties were agreed to solve the problem. Mr. Hasan was given two phone numbers to contact with his daughter and a bank account number by her ex-wife to give the maintenance for her daughter. Annual Report-2018 22
