TRANSGENDER RIGHTS   NCHR KP team participated in a ‘Dialogue on Protection & Prevention against Violence of Transgender Persons’, organised by Blue Veins.31st August, 2022: Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Coordinator attended “Consultation of NCHR on Effective Implementation of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018 organised by the International Commission of Jurists. Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presided over a meeting on the transgender draft bill, on hold on the direction of Council of Islamic Ideology (CII). The meeting was attended by Social Welfare Department. PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES  NCHR Regional Office Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organised a meeting with representatives of persons with disabilities and NGO’s working for the promotion and protection of their rights. NCHR has been advocating for the passing of the law on disabilities in KP. TOBACCO CONTROL    NCHR KP team participated in a “Multi-Stakeholder Consultation on Provincial Roadmap of Tobacco Control in KP”, organised by Blue Veins. NCHR KP team participated in “Round Table Consultations on Action Plan for Sustainable Tobacco Control in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”. NCHR KP team participated in a campaign for World No-Tobacco Day (WNTD), with the 2022 theme, “Tobacco: Threat to our Environment”. AWARENESS AND ADVOCACY      Regional Office KP organised a seminar, “Celebration of International Human Rights Day” in which government officials, representatives of civil society organisations, NGO’s, lawyers, academia, human rights activists, representatives of print and electronic media participated. NCHR KP team participated in “Capacity Building Workshop on Human Rights Monitoring & Reporting” organised by Democracy Reporting Internantional (DRI). Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in a seminar on “Human Rights Education & Sensitization on the Eve International Human Rights Day” organised by Provincial Directorate KP, Ministry of Human Rights. Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Coordinator participated in “Stakeholders Consultation Towards a Collaboration Strategy for Human Rights Protection in KP” organised by Democracy Reporting International (DRI).
