Conclusion Acknowledging the research evidence about rangatahi experiences of conversion practices, and the significant harm they cause, it is imperative that youth work organisations and educational institutes are adequately equipped to provide support. The heightened vulnerability of children and young people in general necessitates a proactive approach to ensure their safety and wellbeing. It is crucial for youth work organisations and educational institutes to prioritise the implementation of comprehensive policies and programs that promote inclusivity, acceptance, and respect for diverse people. 99 This includes providing training and resources to staff members, teachers, and mentors to enhance their understanding of the issues faced by LGBTQIA+, takatāpui Māori and MVPFAFF+ Pasifika rangatahi.
